Background

I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working in private practice with adult individuals, couples and older teenagers (16-19yrs). Additionally, I have worked as a GP counsellor in a busy, medical centre and am registered with BUPA and other health providers as a recognised psychotherapist if you have private health cover. I am also qualified to deliver supervision (PTSTA) and can be the primary supervisor for TA psychotherapy trainees who hope to qualify as Certified Transactional Analysts.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I enjoyed a successful and long career in broadcasting mainly making social documentaries as a freelance television producer/director working for all the main channels. I understand from the ‘inside out’ the stress that arises from combining modern working and domestic life often bringing with it the associated symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic etc which can be ‘triggers’ for deeper and older traumas or conflicts.

Somewhere in the middle of my TV career, I also did some lecturing at Salford University, teaching directing and researching to undergraduates and HND students.

I am a member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis and abide by their code of ethics and conduct and receive regular supervision for my practice.
