Background

KAREN BLUMENFELD

I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working in private practice with adult individuals, couples and older teenagers. Additionally, I have worked as a GP counsellor in a busy, medical centre and am registered with BUPA as an accredited psychotherapist if you have private health cover.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I enjoyed a successful career in broadcasting mainly making social documentaries. I understand from the 'inside out' the stress that arises from combining modern working and domestic life often bringing with the associated symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic etc which can be 'triggers' for deeper and older traumas or conflicts.

I am a member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis and abide by their code of ethics and conduct and receive regular supervision for my practice.
